Gaming Mice have come a long way,  from my classic Microsoft comfort mouse, that weird cheap mouse that came with my pre-built Dell computer to my long term friend the Logitech G502 gaming mouse. Every gamer knows that a good reliable mouse could make the difference between one kill in COD or having a massive kill streak while wrecking havoc against your fellow gamers.

Computer Mice have evolved from heavier the better input devices to extreme  lightweight and highly customizable PC gaming necessities. That is where the Pwnage Ultra Custom Symmetrical  mouse ( Symm mouse)  takes up the mantle. 

This new type of Gaming mouse which allows the user to change almost all details of the mouse either through software or hardware for a more tailored gaming experience. 

I had the pleasure to receive the Pwnage Ultra Symm mouse from the company to give a test and honest review. 

Hey guys welcome back to the channel. Sheldon here again. Today I have another mouse unboxing video for you. I have the Ultra Custom Symmetrical Mouse from Pwnage. This wireless mouse is the latest offering from Pwnage in the gaming hardware arena. 

So let's unbox, set up, do a little gameplay and show what this Ultra Custom Wireless mouse can do.

So opening up the box of the Pwnage Ultra Custom Symmetrical Mouse or Symm Mouse for sort. We got a lightweight gray and white USB-C cable. Now in the bag, we got a solid white shell to replace the honeycomb shell. 

And then we have the Ultra Symm Mouse itself with the honeycomb shell already attached. In another bag underneath, looks like a receiver extender and some extra PFPE or Teflon free. Finally underneath is the Ultra Custom Mouse user manual. 

Taking a look at this no tools required $80 mouse it weighs a bit around 68 to 86 grams depending on the configuration you go with. Whether you use honeycomb shells or even remove the battery and go wired Pwnage offers so many customizable options for this mouse. 

With four different body styles, 22 different cover colors and 11 button styles all available on Pwnage.com website. 

It has six DPI levels ranging from 400 to 6,400. Pressing the DPI button on top will cycle through these levels and the mouse scroll wheel LED will change accordingly from red for 400 DPI to purple for 6,400 DPI. I have mine set at 1600 DPI. So the green color is shown. Max DPI of 16,000 can be achieved through software if needed. 

The Ultra Custom scroll wheel will blink red when power's at 10%. And when charging with the USB-C able it will blink orange and then turn green when fully charged. 

With office mode enabled by flipping the power switch up, thus turning off the LED, this mouse claims to work for about 66 hours. With the mouse in gaming mode with full LEDs on the mouse is supposed to be good for 40 hours between charges. 

Polling rates can be set by using the software but the default Ultra Symm is 500 Hertz. This wireless mouse also comes with some extra Teflon pads to customize your glide either thicker or thinner for some smoother gameplay. 

      A nice touch Pwnage includes is a USB-C to USB-B adapter which you don't see too many companies offer. So if you don't want to plug in the USB dongle into a hard to reach area of your PC you can simply use the adapter to lay it in front of your mousepad. The USB-C cable is lightweight, flexible and about six feet long. So if you want to use this mouse as a wired mouse you have plenty of room to plug it into the back of your PC. It also allows you to charge your mouse to full capacity in about an hour. 

Wired and wireless modes switch automatically, all you have to do is plug the USB nano receiver into the computer without connecting the cable and Ultra Custom Mouse will work in wireless mode. Turn the mouse on and off underneath and if you want to connect and use the wires in wired configuration connect the USB-C cable and the mouse will switch the wired gaming mode automatically. 

But the best way to fully get into the customization of the Ultra Symm Mouse is downloading the Ultra Custom Symm software from Pwnage.com.

 This software allows you to get into the guts of the mouse to make it fully yours. So there are four pages of customizable features in the Pwnage Ultra Custom Symm app. The main page you can switch the key settings, USB polling rate from 125 to 1,000 Hertz and check battery charge. In the advanced section there's the DPI control where you can get the max DPI of 16,000 for the Symm Mouse, change effects, mouse sensitivity, scrolling, and double click speed. 

There's a section to record macros for the mouse and finally a lighting page to fully customize the lights, brightness, speed and choose from millions of colors for the RGB mouse. A

All your customizations can be saved in four different profiles for easy access. The mouse click sound is not overpowering and the travel distance of the two main buttons is good for me right out of the box, but can be shortened with spacers included with the mouse back and forward side buttons are not too big and don't get in the way of intense gaming. 

All in all this most fits nicely in the palm of my hand and over the last few weeks of use for gaming, editing and office work I find it very responsive, reliable and comfortable. The overall dimensions of the Symm Mouse is gonna be 120 millimeters long, 16 millimeters width and 38 millimeter high, which is really a good size for the average right-handed user and is comparable to the popular Zowie S2 Mouse. The glide suits me well right out of the box. 

Although I find it curious that the LEDs switch off when moving and switch back on when not. Maybe that's a feature to save battery while in use but I'm not too sure about that. Now, after testing this mouse in my favorite PC game Battlefront II, I found it to be highly responsive and accurate right out of the box. I tweaked gameplay with a little slower DPI in the software and found the ability to customize settings such as DPI polling and even LED use really was advantageous during gaming. 

Comparing the Symm Mouse to my reliable G502 and Pawnage's other Ergo mouse I am pleasantly surprised for just $80 for someone like me who isn't the hardcore gamer you can can get a mouse that can be so customizable in hardware and in software. 

As I move farther away from heavier mice I love what Pwnage is doing with their Ultra Custom lineup from the endless options for customizable shells and buttons to the use of easy to navigate software to dive deeper into mouse settings.

 It really excites me that I had a chance to test their mice. Of course, there could be some things made better what the Ultra Symm. I think most buyers should opt for the solid sides in the honeycomb. They look cool and show off the RGB more but maybe less comfortable, especially in long gameplay. 

Also getting the mouse in white may require more cleaning over time as we all know white can show more dirt. With people, especially gamers looking for lighter and more tailored mice for their gameplay Pwnage that's really has a great lineup with their Ultra Custom Ergo and Symmetrical mice.
